HISTORY OF KOBUDO
Kobudo was born in Okinawa. The inhabitants of this island for centuries had to defend themselves from pirates and invaders, Chinese, Korean and Japanese.
Also, it was prohibited to use weapons. So, thay have developed fighting techniques using common objects of farmers and fishermen. See for example the oars, the sickles for grain, and various sticks. Other weapons appear to have been imported from the Chinese monks.
In the first of the 900, the master Shinko Matayoshi, creates a school of Kobudo, which brings together the main weapons. His son Shimpo, in 1970, founded the Federation of Kobudo.
TECHNIQUE OF KOBUDO
Kobudo is a martial art completely dedicated to the weapons. Often, is joined in the training of Karate, which is very similar, for example, the positions of the feet, body, and kata, but is an art in its own.
There are no competitive fighting, in kobudo, but there are weapons covered with foam rubber, to work out in practice.
